Remote Scrum Simulation

Experience empirical process control firsthand

With “The House of Santa Claus” simulation, learn what you can't learn from books!

Learn through simulations what you can't learn from books!

Scrum is based on empirical process control – a concept that can only be truly understood through direct experience. Our Remote Scrum Simulation offers teams the opportunity to experience Scrum's core principles in an interactive, hands-on environment.

The Goal of “The House of Santa Claus” Scrum Simulation

Empirical Process Control

The simulation allows teams to directly experience the three pillars of Scrum:

  • Transparency: All team members see the current state
  • Inspection: Regular review of progress
  • Adaptation: Optimize the approach based on insights

How It Works

... and here we go:

Sprint 1: The team starts with minimal instructions and experiences how important clear communication and shared understanding are.

Sprint Review: Presentation of results and feedback round. What worked? What didn't?

Sprint Retrospective: The team reflects on the process and identifies opportunities for improvement.

Additional Sprints: With the insights gained, the process is continuously improved.

What Participants Say

“The Scrum simulation unfolds in a very short time a highly dynamic atmosphere that captivates participants. This playful approach succeeds in bringing transparency, inspection & adaptation to life, and experiencing the balancing act in the pursuit of efficiency and effectiveness. Excellent exercise - highly recommended!”

Robert Eberle

Agile Coach

“Through transparency and the short iterations in the game, we as a team were able to quickly and agilely make the necessary adjustments based on these insights, test them in the next round, and learn from them again. With this game, Ralf brilliantly captures the core of Scrum's agility: empirical process control.”

Alexander Ziebell

Scrum Master

“To experience the mechanisms of Scrum playfully online, Ralf's 'House of Santa Claus' simulation is a wonderful variant. You encounter familiar patterns and engage in meaningful exchange even remotely. And it's fun too. 🙂 I really enjoyed it.”

Falk Kühnel

Agile Coach

“I regularly train new Scrum Masters in-house and have now replaced the excellent Ball-Point Game with the House of Santa Claus method. This achieves the same agile 'aha' moments when conducted remotely!”
